Director Sajid Khan dispels death rumours; asserts “I am alive” in clarification video

In a recent video shared on his Instagram account, film director, television presenter, and actor Sajid Khan clarified the confusion surrounding the demise of actor Sajid Khan. The director began by highlighting that the Sajid Khan who passed away was the child actor from the 1957 film Mother India, not him. He emphasized that the late Sajid Khan, born in 1951, had portrayed the younger version of Sunil Dutt in the iconic film.

Expressing his frustration, Sajid Khan mentioned that some irresponsible media outlets had mistakenly used his photo with the news of the actor's death. He clarified, “Mother India film jo 1957 mein aayi thi. Usme jo chhota bachcha Sunil Dutt bana hua tha, uska naam Sajid Khan tha. Wo 1951 mein paida hua tha. Mein 20 saal baad paida hua. Unki bechare ki death ho gayi. And may his soul rest in peace. Lekin mere kuchh irresponsible media walon ne meri photo daal di. (Mother India film released in 1957, and the child actor who played Sunil Dutt’s younger version was Sajid Khan. He was born in 1951, I was born 20 years after that. He has passed away, however, some irresponsible media people have used my photo with the news).”

 

Sajid Khan went on to address the concerns of his well-wishers who had reached out to confirm whether he was still alive. Asserting his vitality, he said, “I am alive. And may that Sajid Khan's soul genuinely rest in peace.” He extended a plea to the media, friends, fans, and viewers, urging them to recognize the distinction between him and the deceased actor.
