Bhumi Pednekar thanks audience for embracing Bhakshak, gets emotional: "This film is beyond hit or flop"

Actress Bhumi Pednekar expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the audience for their overwhelming response to her latest movie, Bhakshak. The film, which premiered directly on Netflix on February 9, has garnered significant love from viewers, despite not following the traditional theatrical release route. Taking to her social media, Pednekar shared a video clip reenacting a scene from the film, accompanied by a heartfelt message.

"When we began #Bhakshak," she wrote, "Pulkit (director of the film) had said, 'Bhumi, this story will never leave people.' Shooting the film was filled with emotional moments that stay with me. Our ‘story’ was reality for these children. They were so young that they probably didn’t even know what was happening with them. This thought kept us going. We have to make a film free of all corruption and with all the right intentions."

The 34-year-old actress further stated, "This one is beyond a hit or flop. It’s about how deep it affects you when you watch it. Today we stand victorious. We felt the impact. Let’s not stop. If our film made you feel and the next time you see injustice big or small do your bit :) We all have a Vaishali Singh (her character in the film) in us."

The actress also expressed her gratitude to her team and collaborators, including superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan, who played a key role in bringing Bhakshak to life. Bhakshak delves into the sensitive subject of child sexual abuse, highlighting the courage and resilience of survivors.
