Bawaal starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor tops direct-to-OTT charts in 2023
Varun Dhawan’s latest venture, Bawaal, has surged to the top, securing the title of the No. 1 most-watched direct-to-OTT Hindi film of 2023.
Bawaal unfolds a captivating narrative that explores the challenges within a relationship, offering viewers a tale of rediscovery experienced by the characters Ajay and Nisha. The film’s storyline, coupled with Varun Dhawan has contributed to its success in the digital space.
Having garnered an impressive 21.2 million views, Bawaal stands out as a shining example of Varun Dhawan's seamless transition from the silver screen to the digital realm.
Speaking of the professional front, Varun recently wrapped up the Kerala schedule of his upcoming action film, tentatively titled VD 18. Directed by Kalees and produced by Atlee and Murad Khetani, VD 18 boasts an impressive cast, including Keerthy Suresh and Wamiqa Gabbi. The film promises to be an action-packed venture, and fans eagerly anticipate Varun's portrayal in this upcoming project. Besides this, readers may recall that Bollywood Hungama had recently reported that Varun will soon reunite with director Shashank Khaitan for the third instalment of the Dulhania franchise.
On the other hand, Janhvi has several projects lined up in the future. She has Devara with Jr NTR and Saif Ali Khan, and Mr And Mrs Mahi with Rajkummar Rao. Devara is being produced as a pan-India movie with a huge budget.
