Athiya Shetty opens up about "Living with best friend" KL Rahul; says, “I can’t wait to experience many more years”

On January 23, the much-admired couple, actress Athiya Shetty and Indian cricketer KL Rahul, marked their first wedding anniversary since tying the knot last year. Athiya shared insights into her marriage during a recent interview with Harper's Bazaar in December 2023.

In the interview, Athiya Shetty expressed her joy about the journey of the past year, stating, “Being married is like living with your best friend, and I can’t wait to experience many more years of that.” The actress reflected on the organic nature of their relationship, emphasizing the simplicity that has defined their union.

 

Athiya offered a glimpse into the dynamics of their relationship, noting that they didn't overthink the process of staying connected despite their busy lives. “I feel that we don’t concentrate too much on how to keep in touch. This has come out very organically, and I don’t think we put too much thought into it,” she shared.

 

As the conversation progressed further, Athiya spoke about navigating a long-distance relationship early on. She shared, “When we started dating, we lived in different cities. So, we had to make sure that we made time for each other. We found our time when we were free. So, it’s a combination of that. I feel that if you love someone, things just happen naturally.”

 

In addition to this, it is worth mentioning here that on the occasion of their first wedding anniversary, Athiya shared a video on her Instagram feed.
