AR Rahman opens up on his musical journey of the film Atrangi Re
Sara Ali Khan and Dhanush starrer love saga Atrangi Re is all set for an OTT release on 24th December 2021. The film's trailer and its songs are being very much appreciated by the audiences and critics alike. The score and soundtrack of the film are composed by the legendary singer A. R. Rahman marking his second collaboration with Aanand L. Rai after Raanjhanaa, while the lyrics are given by Irshad Kamil.
Recently, on December 6th, 2021, a music event was hosted in Mumbai where the makers launched the film’s album in a grand concert by music maestro AR Rahman. The event was also attended by Akshay Kumar, Sara Ali Khan, Bhushan Kumar, Aanand L Rai, and Irshad Kamil.
During the event, A R Rahman was asked by the host to describe the musical journey of the film. Talking about the musical journey of Atrangi Re, A R Rahman had all praise for the director of the film Aanand L. Rai. The singer-composer said, "The musical journey always starts with the director coming in engaging and saying that I want to do this crazy love story. And I'm a big fan of his work and screenplay. And how he brings villages to life makes it so international. So the whole world can see our culture, or joy or sadness or hope, faith, everything. So he is a very, very important director in my career.”
He added, "So working with Aanand, Himanshu, and Irshad has been an amazing ride. And then there was Covid. So one day, we said, ‘Let's go to my farm.’ So all of us went to a farm house and I think everyone was happy seeing greenery and everything. And then almost five songs of this movie came out of that session."
Atrangi Re will release on 24 December, 2021. The film will be available to watch on the platform Disney+Hotstar.
