Akshay Kumar sings Ram Setu's anthem LIVE at this event as audiences cheer for him; watch

Akshay Kumar is currently gearing up for the release of the much ambitious film Ram Setu which revolves around the age-old legend of a bridge that was built between India and Sri Lanka over the Indian ocean. Akshay, who plays an archeologist, is seen racing against time to save India’s culture in the film. Considering that the festival of Diwali also has a close connection to Ramayana, the film is expected to hit the theatres during the celebrations. But before that, the team launched the ‘Ram Setu Anthem’ at an event where we saw the actor perform.

Before the film hit the silvers screens next week, Akshay Kumar and the team planned a grand audio launch for the special song in the film, called the ‘Ram Setu Anthem’.  During the event, the actor showcased his singing skills by singing the track as the audience not only cheered for him but also joined him in singing the song. Talking about Ram Setu, the film is based on the age-old folklore of a stone bridge that was built between India and Sri Lanka by Lord Rama with the help of the ‘vanar-sena’. It was a part of the mission to rescue Goddess Seeta from the clutches of the Lankeshwar aka Ravana. The film is a fictional tale showcasing the existence of the remnants of the bridge with Akshay playing the archeologist who undertakes the task of protecting India’s legacy.

 

The film also stars Jacqueline Fernandez, Nushrratt Bharuccha, Nasser, Satya Dev, Pravesh Rana among others, and is expected to hit the theatres on October 25. Written and directed by Abhishek Sharma, the film is produced by Cape of Good Films, Abundantia Entertainment, and Lyca Productions.
