BO Report Card: Analyzing Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani's success in US and UAE markets

 

In this week's edition of Bollywood Hungama's Box Office Report Card, we analyze the standing of the recently released Ranbir, Deepika starrer Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani in the US and UAE Box Office charts. Focusing on YJHD, we realize that though the film tops the UAE charts, it surprisingly comes way down the list at number six on the US charts.

When it comes to US, 3 Idiots that released back in 2009 still holds the top spot, while in the UAE, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani tops the list. Another point to notice is that while the US charts feature films right from 2006 in their top 10, the UAE charts only features films from 2012-13, signifying a higher rate of incremental revenue generation from a wider market audience.

 

Though this report does not provide charts for UK, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani surprisingly has not made it to the Top 20 despite grossing 958,471 pounds in UK till date, as compared to Main Hoon Na that grossed 962,717 pounds and Dostana grossing 981,027 respectively.
