Shamitabh gets a U/A certificate

Though the Amitabh Bachchan, Dhanush, Akshara Haasan starrer Shamitabh did not face a lot of censor struggle, the film recently got a U/A certificate but with a few cuts. The film, which deals with the egos of two men, has been given the green signal by the Censor Board of Film Certification but at the same time, the authorities have asked to cut a few expletives from the film.

 

The use of certain abusive words like m*******d and b*******d have been asked to remove and the makers have been asked to replace them with other words. The new chairperson of CBFC Pahlaj Nihalani has maintained that all films that will be using cuss words will be facing strict censorship and now, most of these words in the dialogues of Shamitabh has been asked to do away with. Also, certain scenes like the one where Dhanush is seen showing a middle finger along with two other sequences have been asked to chop off from the film. Despite, the changes, filmmaker R. Balki is happy about the censor board's decision and even stated that the screening held for the Censor Board was a smooth ride.
