Sagar grandson to direct Bajpai and Jimmy
Yesteryear filmmaker Ramanand Sagar's grandson Amrit Sagar is making his foray into Bollywood. Amrit who has done a course in filmmaking will continue his family tradition of directing films. The film titled 1971 stars Manoj Bajpai, Jimmy Shergill and 4 other new faces. 1971 is not based on the 1971 Indo-Bangladesh war but a tragedy that happens to these guys after the war. It's a character driven story and has no heroines in it. The last film from the house of Sagars was Salma in 1985. After that they shifted to television making the popular mythological series Ramayan and fantasy series Vikram Aur Vetaal.
