Mika Singh to bear the expenses of Sarabjit Singh's daughter's wedding

The story of Sarabjit Singh and the battle of justice, a movement started by his doting sister Dalbir Kaur seems to have touched the hearts of several Bollywood celebrities. One amongst them is Mika Singh who has decided to come forward and help the family of the deceased Sarabjit.

 

On a reality show recently, singer Mika Singh was more than happy to share the stage with Dalbir Kaur and the upcoming film Sarbjit's cast Randeep Hooda and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The singer actually has a sort of connection to the case. It so happened that his brother and musician Shamsher Singh was approached by Dalbir whilst she was fighting for justice for her brother and Shamsher even joined a group who were present at Jantar Mantar and helped in supporting people for the release of Sarabjit Singh. Mika, being a witness to the same, got emotional and presented Dalbir Kaur with a 'Khanda' (the military emblem of Sikhs) and even promised her that he would bear all the expenses of Sarabjit Singh's daughter Poonam's marriage.

Sarabjit Singh was a farmer whose mistake of crossing the border unknowingly made him a Pakistani prisoner. A fight that stretched for over two decades started by his sister Dalbir ended when Singh was killed by his jail inmates. Directed by Omung Kumar, Sarbjit is slated to release on May 20.
