Kyon not inspired by Wild Things says Lajmi:
When Kunal Khemu was faced with Priyadarshan's brand of broad boisterous-boys-day-out humour, he was clueless.
Kyon not inspired by Wild Things says Lajmi:
Recounting the horrific incident Kunal says, "Dhol is going to be my third release as a leading man. Since I had already played two intense roles I want to do something that would be fun and funny. Both my co-stars Sharman Joshi and Tusshar Kapoor had done slapstick before. I was the odd one out. Of course I had done comedy on stage in college. But this was different. The humour, timing, gestures and expressionsthey took time. But I got a hang of it. And I finally ended up having as much fun as my co-stars."
Coincidentally the shooting of Dhol ended on the day that Kunal's new film Traffic Signal was premiered. "It was just chance, I guess. But I like the fact that one film ends and the other begins. After Kalyug I've been very cautious about what I do. That's why there's such a long gap between my first release and my second film."
Kunal undertook intense preparation to play the street hoodlum in Traffic Signal. "Getting the accent and body language right were tough because I'm basically an introvert. But to me that's the challenge of being an actor. I get to do the things I can't in real life."
Kunal hasn't signed any film after Traffic Signal and Dhol. I want to make sure whatever comes next takes me ahead."
