"It's my last remake" - Priyadarshan

Call it a coincidence, but a majority of Priyadarshan movies are remakes of Malayalam films. Even his latest outing MERE BAAP PEHLE AAP is a remake. Why remakes and why Malayalam films in particular? "I had worked on some original ideas made by independent writers when I started out, but the experience as also the outcome was far from favorable," Priyadarshan reminisces, "That's when I decided to borrow from Malayalam films, which are so rich in content. However, I wish to add, MERE BAAP PEHLE AAP is my last remake. From henceforth, no more remakes for me.
