Hansal Mehta is a worried man. Aligarh, his sensitive film based on a real-life homosexual professor from Aligarh University, who was surreptitiously videographed making love with a man in his house.

The gay love-making scene, which is currently being kept under wraps, occupies more than 5 mins of playing-time in the film.

How will Manoj Bajpayee's long homosexual love-making scene get passed the Censor Board?

The problem is, gay love-making is illegal in India. Last week, the Broadcasting Content Complaints Council issued a notice to Star World to explain the homosexual content on the show Grey's Anatomy.

Given the constitutional prohibition of gay activities, it is doubtful that the lengthy homosexual love-making in Hansal Mehta's film would be allowed by the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

Says a source close to the film, "The film's co-producers Eros International are very secretive about the film. In fact, they didn't want to hold a single screening of the film before release. Hansal had to put all his persuasive powers into top gear to get the producers to screen the film at the MAMI Festival."

A well-placed source in the Censor Board says, "We'll judge the gay love-making scene within the context of the theme, and then decide."
