Rumour: It has been brought to our knowledge that you have inserted a special clause in the music rights agreements with producers, specifying the time period between the music release and the theatrical release of the film. We are told that you have taken this decision after HAAN MAINE BHI PYAAR KIYA, since the film was released soon after the music release, with the music suffering in the bargain. How far is it true? Kumar Taurani : Coming to your first question, this clause already exists in all our agreements with producers. There's a clear understanding with the producers that after they deliver the music, the music company will fix its release date and set the time period for its promotion. In the case of H.M.B.P.K., we had initially finalised December 16 as the release date for the music promos. But later, Suneel-ji (Suneel Darshan), Dharmesh-ji and Tips mutually decided to postpone it by a week, since K3G was also scheduled for release in the same week. We started screening the music promos from December 23 and the music was released on January 12. It is sad that the music was not given sufficient time to grow, as a result of which both the music and the film suffered in the bargain. If only Suneel-ji had listened to my suggestion of allowing the music to grow for some more time, the outcome would've been something else.
