The much-awaited collaboration between director SS Rajamouli and actor Mahesh Babu is finally taking shape, and the makers have now unveiled the first look of Malayalam superstar Prithviraj Sukumaran from the upcoming mega project Globe Trotter. The film also stars Priyanka Chopra in a pivotal role and is being touted as one of the biggest Indian films in the making.
Director SS Rajamouli revealed the first look poster on social media, introducing Prithviraj as KUMBHA — a dark, intense, and powerful antagonist. The poster features the actor in a high-tech wheelchair, exuding menace and authority, signaling a character unlike anything audiences have seen from him before.
The poster marks the first major reveal from Globe Trotter, described as Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu’s most ambitious world-building venture yet. Fans have long awaited this collaboration, and the anticipation has only grown following Rajamouli’s global success with the Baahubali franchise and RRR, which earned international acclaim and an Oscar win.
Sharing the update on X (formerly Twitter), Rajamouli wrote, “Amidst the climax shoot on set with all three, there’s a lot more prep happening around the #GlobeTrotter event, as we’re trying something far beyond what we’ve done before. Can’t wait for you all to experience it on Nov 15th.”
According to reports, the team is currently filming an elaborate climax sequence featuring all three leads — Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra, and Prithviraj Sukumaran. Sources close to the production described it as one of the most technically challenging sequences ever mounted in a Rajamouli film.
The reveal of Prithviraj’s look officially kicked off the film’s promotional campaign. Rajamouli confirmed that the coming week will include “multiple updates and surprises” leading up to the #GlobeTrotter launch event, which is scheduled for November 15 at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad.
The event is expected to be one of the largest showcases ever in Indian cinema, marking the beginning of an extensive promotional rollout for what is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious Indian films to date.
