Akki thrilled to bits

I haven't won as much praise for my work in KHAKEE [one of his best performances] as much for MUJHSE SHAADI KAROGI, a thrilled Akshay Kumar tells me. He's going through one of the best phases in his life. Spending ample time with wife Twinkle and kid on one hand and delivering hits on the other. It feels so good to be a part of a blockbuster. I would attribute the success of M.S.K. to so many factors, mainly David Dhawan's handling of the subject and the chemistry Salman and I shared in the film, he states. Though Akshay has done a number of light-hearted roles in the past [MR. AND MRS. KHILADI, HERA PHERI, AWARA PAAGAL DEEWANA, KHAKEE], he admits that the adulation for MUJHSE SHAADI KAROGI supersedes all these entertainers. And my forthcoming line-up has a right mix of thrillers and light entertainers, he adds. Scheduled for release on November 12 are two Akki movies - AB TUMHARE HAWALE WATAN SATHIYO and AITRAAZ. The latter is a very bold film, he says. Quiz him about multiple releases in the Diwali week and pat comes the reply, Almost every producer has scheduled his film for Diwali. For all you know, there might be as many as 12 films releasing during the festival of lights, he states in a tongue-in-cheek fashion.
