Aishwareya honoured by Priyadarshani Academy:

Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai was bestowed with the prestigious Smita Patil Memorial Award instituted by the Priyadarshani Academy,an educational institution, in Mumbai on Tuesday, September 19, 2000 for being the best actress. Speaking on the occasion, Ash said that it was a special honor to receive an award dedicated to an actress like Smita Patil. Adding further, she said that it was now her responsibility to live up to this formal recognition of being the best actress. She promised the audience of delivering better performance in her forthcoming movies. Whether she lives up to her promise or not will be seen in the years to come.
