Rumour : It is learnt that you are all set to revive a series of Aamir Khan starrers in the next few weeks. Apparently, the decision is in keeping with the fact that Aamir starrers are likely to find a favourable patronage among audiences, with LAGAAN being nominated for the Oscars. If true, could you please provide us with details? Balkrishna Shroff (Mumbai distributor of Aamir Khan starrers) : It's a fact that we are planning to revive a number of Aamir starrers with new prints and a brand new publicity campaign. We are planning to revive this lot in March when theatres are likely to face a shortage of films, since very few releases have been scheduled due to the examination season. The nomination of LAGAAN in the Oscars has generated a considerable demand for Aamir starrers in the market and we are confident that these films have excellent revival prospects. We have the rights of a major number of successful Aamir starrers, right from QAYAMAT SE QAYAMAT TAK to JO JEETA WOHI SIKANDER and RAJA HINDUSTANI and we will be re-releasing all of them in planned succession.
