Mahhi Vij is set to share one of the most personal chapters of her life on the upcoming episode of Tum Ho Naa – Ghar Ki Superstar. During an emotional conversation with host Rajeev Khandelwal, the actress reflected on her separation, her bond with ex-husband Jay Bhanushali, and the unconditional support she received from her father through the difficult phase.

Speaking about how her father stood by her side without questioning her decisions, Mahhi revealed that his support gave her the strength to navigate the challenges she faced in her personal life. “Actually, I think unhone kabhi kisi cheez pe sawal nahi kiya aur unhone humesha ye bola hai ki jo tu decision legi hum tere sath hain, tu bass khush honi chahiye life mai aur humare beech mai matlab. (He has never questioned me. He has also told me that he will support every decision I make. He just wants me to be happy always). Jay is my best friend right now, and he is my family.
She continued, “Mere papa bhi ghar jate hai Jay ke saath chai-vai peete hai, vo bhi ata hai humlog ke beech mai bohot hi acchasa relationship hai and I am glad kisi mai bhi bitterness nahi hai, humlog abhi bhi family ki tarha jude hue hain ek dusre ke liye aur jab ye sab cheeze ho rahi thi to pata hai kya hota hai aapko aisa lagta hain baas koi sawal mat karo, aap bass baith jao quietly and thats what he did vo chup chap baithte the, koi sawal nahi ki tu ye kyu kar rahi hai, ye hojayega, ye galat hai (Whenever my father goes to meet Jay, they always have tea together. Even when he comes to us, he spends time with us. We all continue to share a good relationship where there is no bitterness among us. We are all still connected together as a family. You know how it is when such things happen. You don’t want anyone to question, you just want to stay silent and stay quiet, spend time with yourself alone, so that no one questions you, no one keeps telling – this will happen or that is wrong).”
The actress also reflected on the social pressures women often face while dealing with changes in their personal lives. She spoke candidly about the expectations placed on women and how relatives can sometimes add to the emotional burden during difficult times.
“Kaafi mai dekhti hu, maine haalhi mai insta pe video dala tha toh ladkiyo ko bola jata hai kuch bhi ho na, mai ye nahi bol rahi ki mere haalt kharab the mai ye bol rahi hu ki ladkiyo ye bola jata hai ke aap nibhate raho, aur ladki jab ghar vapas aati hain tab aisa lagta hai ke yaar society mai rishtedaro mai kyuki obviously, purane zamane ke hai to thoda unko lagta hai ki sir jhuk jayega, rishtedar hi hote hai jo sabse jyada taunt marte hai (I often see this around me. In fact, I recently shared a video on Instagram about it. Girls are often told to keep adjusting and continue making things work no matter what. I’m not saying that I was going through a terrible phase, but there is definitely this expectation placed on women. When a woman returns to her parents’ home, there is a fear of what society and relatives will think. Since many people still have a traditional mindset, they worry about how it will be perceived. More often than not, it’s relatives who make the most hurtful remarks)”, she shared.
Vij added, “, Yeh mahol dekh ke mujhe aisa lagta hai hai mere pappa ne mujhse ek sawal bhi nahi kiya unhoe mujhe bass ye dikhaya ke mai hu, tu tension mat le, tu rahegi nahi rahegi tera baap humesha tere sath hai (Looking at all of this, I feel incredibly grateful because my father never questioned me even once. He never asked why I was making a certain decision. Instead, he simply reassured me that he was there for me. He made me feel that I didn’t have to worry about anything. Whether I stayed married or not, his message was clear — ‘Your father will always stand by your side).”
Moved by her heartfelt words, Rajeev Khandelwal praised her father's approach and responded, “Ye na unn samaajdaro ko bolna chahiye, ke mere pappa mujhse sawal nahi karte, tum kaun hote ho mujhse koi sawal puchne wale tabse aapka jawab hai vo vahi khatam hota hai aapke pita ke paas jake, ye rahein mere pappa, ye raha mera jawab (This is exactly what should be said to all those self-appointed guardians of society. If my father doesn’t question me, then who are you to question me? That should be your answer right there. The conversation ends the moment you point to your father and say, ‘Here is my father, and here is my answer)”, she concluded.
The episode promises to showcase an emotional side of Mahhi Vij as she opens up about family, resilience, and the relationships that continue to remain strong despite life's changes. Tum Ho Naa – Ghar Ki Superstar, hosted by Rajeev Khandelwal, airs every Monday to Friday at 9 PM on Sony Entertainment Television and Sony LIV.
