Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, Rashmika Mandanna, producers Dinesh Vijan, Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg, director Homi Adajania and others attended the trailer launch of Cocktail 2 at a restobar in Mumbai. However, the event turned out to be disappointing for several mediapersons, as overcrowding made it difficult to see and hear the talent on stage. To add to the chaos, the poor sound system made it a struggle to follow the team’s conversation. Thankfully, the team of Cocktail 2 more than made up for these hiccups with their candid and entertaining quotes. The musical romcom marks the first association of Luv and Dinesh and both talked about it and a lot more.
Homi Adajania began by saying, “There was an embargo on us made by Dino that for three months, Luv and I were not allowed to communicate until the shoot. Now, we are thick as thieves.”
Luv Ranjan added, “One night, we had a few drinks together and we became best friends. Daru sab cheez sort kar deti hai life mein!”
He explained why the film is worth watching, “It’s a story that we haven’t seen before. It's new and fresh. Aapko kuch bhi dekh ke aisa nahin lagega ki yeh dekha hua hai. Even if you see the trailer, aapko bahut jhatke lagenge when you see the film. There are lots of shocks and pleasant surprises in the film, and it’ll be an enjoyable experience for the viewers.”
Dinesh Vijan remarked, “We have cut the trailer for all those who comment on YouTube that ‘You have shown the whole story in the trailer’. This time, we haven’t shown anything.” Luv added, “Humne bahut kuch dikhaya hai. Phir bhi kuch nahin dikhaya!”
At another point in the event, Dinesh Vijan said, “The first part (Cocktail; 2012) had a lot more intense second half. The second half of this film is very, very unconventional. As I said earlier, I am not going to say much. You have to buy the ticket.”
There were jokes about threesomes in the film and Luv Ranjan clarified, “There’s no physical threesome in the film; there’s only an emotional threesome. It’s a family film!”
Cocktail 2 releases in cinemas on June 19.
