As anticipation continues to build around Main Vaapas Aaunga, actors Sharvari and Vedang Raina opened up about their experience working together for the first time in the upcoming film directed by Imtiaz Ali. The film also stars Diljit Dosanjh and marks Sharvari and Vedang’s first collaboration not only with each other but also with the acclaimed filmmaker.
During a conversation with Screen, Sharvari revealed that one of the strongest common connections between her and Vedang was their admiration for Alia Bhatt. While Vedang shared screen space with Alia in Jigra as her brother, Sharvari is set to co-star with the actor in Alpha, the much-awaited YRF Spy Universe film, touted as the first solo female-led spy film in the franchise.
Speaking about Alia, Sharvari said, “Actually, we did speak a lot about Alia. Both of us are really fond of her. She is an incredible human being first and foremost, and a brilliant actor. I am always in awe of Alia and have been a huge fan of hers. To be able to just work with her, share screen and headline a film like Alpha means the world to me. To just be in the same space and be able to learn from her is an invaluable experience.”
Sharvari also shared that Alia had personally reached out to her after Main Vaapas Aaunga was announced. Recalling the message, she said, “She is a real cheerleader. I remember she messaged me right after Main Vaapas Aaunga was announced, saying, ‘I am so excited that you and Vedang are doing Imtiaz sir’s film at this time in your career. When you are exploring yourself, and you are new, the best director is Imtiaz sir; he will help you in this discovery.’ I didn’t understand what she meant then, but I do understand what she meant now”.
Vedang Raina too had glowing words for Alia Bhatt, especially about the warmth she brings to people around her. Reflecting on conversations around her and experiences shared by those who have worked with the actor, Vedang said, “I think, even Imtiaz sir, and whoever has an experience of working with her, they always leave with such a good feeling. That’s what we have also spoken about. That you leave feeling like she is such a lovely person. Acting, of course, you know it’s Alia Bhatt, but you leave feeling like she is such a good person at heart. She makes you feel important, loved, and she goes out of her way to take things into her own hands."
With Main Vaapas Aaunga bringing together an exciting cast and filmmaker combination, the film has already emerged as one of the most anticipated upcoming projects among Bollywood audiences.
