Production house Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment is set to enter Gujarati cinema with its upcoming film Dhabkaaro, marking a new regional expansion in its 75th year in the industry. The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on May 1, 2026, coinciding with Gujarat Divas.
The project is being mounted in collaboration with The Moving Manch and Harfanmaula Films, with Abhishek Shah directing. Shah, a National Award-winning filmmaker known for Gujarati films such as Hellaro and Umbarro, has both written and helmed the film. The cast includes Deven Bhojani and Aarjav Trivedi in lead roles.

The makers described the collaboration as a significant step in bringing the story to a wider audience. “We’re incredibly excited to bring Dhabkaaro to audiences. Having the backing of a banner like Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment adds strength to our vision, allowing us to tell this story at the scale and reach it deserves,” The Moving Manch and Harfanmaula Films said in a joint statement.
The film is positioned as part of a growing trend of established Hindi film production houses exploring regional cinema, particularly in languages like Gujarati that have seen increasing theatrical traction in recent years.
Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, known for backing films such as Chhichhore, Highway, Super 30 and Tamasha, has largely operated within Hindi cinema so far. With Dhabkaaro, the banner expands its footprint into regional storytelling while collaborating with filmmakers rooted in local narratives.
The announcement also underscores director Abhishek Shah’s continued focus on culturally grounded stories that appeal to both regional and broader audiences. Dhabkaaro is currently slated for a theatrical release across Gujarat on May 1, 2026. The film’s first look and further promotional material are expected to be unveiled closer to its release date.
