Anil Kapoor and his incredible 40-year journey in cinema were celebrated in a grand fashion at the trailer launch of his upcoming film, Subedaar, held at a restobar by the beach in Mumbai. It was also graced by actors Radhikka Madan, Kushboo Sundar, Mona Singh, Saurabh Shukla, Aditya Rawal and Faisal Malik along with Nikhil Madhok, director and head of originals at Prime Video India, producer Vikram Malhotra and director Suresh Triveni. Kushboo Sundar was the centre of attraction at the event as Subedaar, along with Vanvaas (2024), marked her return to Bollywood after a hiatus.

Kushboo Sundar said, “Life is a complete circle. You come back to where you started from. I started from Hindi films, with Anil ji in Meri Jung (1985). And now I am back with this film, which is also with Anil ji. It's great. It feels like jahan par zindagi shuru hoti hai, wahan par wapas aana hi hai. I would even say that Anil ji had a huge contribution in my career down South. This is because I got inspiration from him.”
She added, “I really need to share something with you all. The year was 1984. I was 14 when I was working in Meri Jung and I was starry eyed as I was working with Anil Kapoor, Subhash Ghai etc. But the kind of dedication I saw in Anil ji, I’ve hardly seen in anyone else. There’s a scene in the climax of Meri Jung where he needs to run and enter a courtroom. That scene was shot in Film City. He could have stood in the witness box and simply panted to suggest he’d come rushing to the court. Instead, he actually ran four rounds of Film City! And you all know how huge Film City is. That’s what helped him deliver the dialogue convincingly, with real tiredness on his face.”
She continued, “Also, to get heaviness in his voice, he would dub at 5 in the morning. You don’t see such dedication anymore.”
Subedaar releases on Amazon Prime Video on March 5. Meanwhile, Anil Kapoor was in a great mood and entertained the attendees. When the host announced the end of the event and that of the Q-and-A session with the media, he replied, “Why do you want to close the questions? Abhi toh sab garam ho rahe hai! Nowadays, it's a fashion that the team of the film will indulge in Q and A and that the press shouldn’t be allowed to ask much. I told them, 'Aisa kuch nahin karo. Don't be scared. All of these people love us. Pucho re!'” As expected, there was a loud cheer from the mediapersons for this gesture.
