Mrunal Thakur has wrapped up her shooting schedule for the upcoming bilingual action drama Dacoit. The actor shared the update with her followers through Instagram stories, posting behind-the-scenes images and a short video from the sets to mark the end of her portion of the shoot. In her post, she referred to the crew as “BEST TEAM”, acknowledging the people she worked closely with during the production.
Dacoit, which stars Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur in the lead roles, has been in the spotlight since the release of its teaser earlier this year. The teaser introduced audiences to the film’s intense tone and central conflict, positioning it as an action-driven narrative. The film also features Anurag Kashyap in a pivotal role, alongside a supporting cast that includes several familiar faces from the industry.
The project marks the directorial debut of Shaneil Deo, who has collaborated with Adivi Sesh on developing the film’s story and screenplay. The script has been jointly written by Sesh and Deo, with the aim of presenting a grounded action drama that works across languages and regions. Shot simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu, Dacoit is designed as a Pan-India release, reflecting the growing trend of bilingual and multi-language productions.
Produced by Supriya Yarlagadda and co-produced by Suniel Narang, the film is presented by Annapurna Studios. The production has been mounted on a sizeable scale, with schedules spread across multiple locations. Mrunal Thakur’s wrap signals a key milestone in the film’s progress as it moves closer to completion.
With her schedule now complete, post-production and remaining shoots involving other cast members are expected to continue in the coming months. Dacoit is slated for a theatrical release on March 19, 2026, aligning with the Gudi Padwa festival and the extended Eid weekend, a window often considered significant for Pan-India releases.
As anticipation builds ahead of its release, Dacoit continues to position itself as a high-profile action drama aimed at a wide audience across language markets.
