The clarification follows widespread online discussion after a clip of Erçel filming the Bollywood star at an international awards event went viral.
The original video shows Erçel seated in the audience at the Joy Awards 2026 in Riyadh, holding up her phone as Shah Rukh Khan presented an award alongside Egyptian actress Amina Khalil. That clip quickly made the rounds on social media, with many fans interpreting her actions as an enthusiastic fan-moment.
Soon after, a screenshot claiming to be from Erçel’s account began circulating online with the caption, “Who is this uncle? I was just filming my friend @aminakalilofficial, I am not his fan! Please stop spreading false information!!” The image attracted significant attention, drawing reactions from fans and critics alike.

In response to the screenshot, Hande Erçel took to her official social media account to categorically deny the claim. Her brief statement read simply, “This is fake.” The firm denial aimed at shutting down speculation that she had referred to Shah Rukh Khan in a dismissive way.
On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for the release of his next film, King, scheduled for release this Christmas.
