Pathaan star Deepika Padukone says, “I don’t think we set out to break records”; speaks about “pure intention” of Shah Rukh Khan starrer : Bollywood News

Shah Rukh Khan has marked his comeback after four years with a bang. Though a few weeks before the release of Pathaan, the spy-thriller was surrounded by controversies, it has broken numerous box office records, close to 17. As the film is performing well at the box office, Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, John Abraham and the director of the film Siddharth Anand attended a press conference and spoke about the film, their preparation for the role and much more.

Interestingly, during the conference, Deepika was asked to describe how she feels as Pathaan continues to break records. In her thoughtful response, the actress asserted, “To be honest, I don't think we set out to break records. We sat out to make a film with love with the right intentions. And, most importantly, we had a good time. This is something Shah Rukh taught me in my very first movie. He said, ‘try and work with people you know you're going to have a good time with’. I think that makes a huge difference.”

Elaborating further, the 37-year-old actress further added, “Roj jab hum set par jaatey hai, logon ke sath kaam karne ka mauka milta hai, jinko aap pyaar karety ho (every day you go to the set, get an opportunity to work with people. Meet and collaborate with people, you love). It is such a lovely atmosphere to work in. That's what the audience is taking back as well. But I think more importantly, the intent with which we made this movie is just pure love and joy to bring the audience together and hopefully bring joy into their lives. That was the intention. It was pure and that is what we are seeing today.”

Speaking of Pathaan, the third entry of YRF’s spy universe was released on January 25, a day before India’s 75th Republic Day. Besides Deepika, Shah Rukh and John, the film also features Dimple Kapadia and Ashutosh Rana.
