Call it withdrawal symptoms but perhaps this is what fans of Akshay Kumar are currently going through. For those who are used to seeing Akshay Kumar on the big screen practically every three months, a long gap of nine months between Boss and Holiday is turning out to be too much to digest. So much so that within last one week, social media has seen frenzy over his next release Holiday with a hat-trick of trending.

That, when not even a single official still from the film has been released so far!

Comments an observer, "Last week it was first when a call for Holiday First Look that trended. Then on Tuesday, it was trended as 'The Most Awaited Film'. The story repeated itself on Thursday and Friday when one of the top trending topics was '#HOLIDAYfirstLookPlease'. His very strong follower base has been relentless in fetching his attention as it seems like a rather long time since Akshay was seen on the big screen."

Though he has not been off the public eye, his recent conversation with Karan Johar on 'Koffee with Karan' has only added on to an overall visibility. Moreover, with a new stubble look that he has donned for Gabbar, it is quite apparent that he is on a reinvention mode this year.

"There may be a brief pause as far as his film releases is concerned but he would be returning with a good line up starting with Holiday," an insider adds, "There is Its Entertainment in August and then Gabbar may arrive this year too."

However currently it is Holiday which is generating most excitement, courtesy its action theme as well as the fact that it is a remake of the Vijay starrer Thuppakki which was a big hit in 2012. Though there has been a tussle around its arrival, courtesy Action Jackson too is slated for release on the same day (6th June), producer Vipul Shah isn't budging from his stand.

When contacted, he said, "There is no change in release plans. We are definitely coming on 6th June."

Meanwhile Akshay is pleasantly surprised with all the attention that Holiday is fetching so much in advance. He posted - "I really appreciate all your enthusiasm but as you know the film will release on June 6, it's too early to reveal the first look, so hang in there, it'll be out before you know it."
