MasterChef is a competitive cooking show television show whose format is originally created by Franc Roddam in the UK in July 1990. Later in 2009, its first international adaptation MasterChef Australia aired on television and afterwards many countries acquired the format and launched their own show. Later MasterChef India premiered on 16 October 2010 on Star Plus.
Now, after coming to India in Hindi, MasterChef is also coming up with its Hindi adaptation. The show will air on Sun TV as it has acquired all the adaptation rights. Popular actor Vijay Sethupathi has been announced as the new host as he is a popular and household name in South India. Vijay earlier also hosted Namooru Hero on Sun TV.
Reportedly, Vijay Sethupathi was offered a massive remuneration, higher than his usual film deals by the makers of the show. The first promo of the show is out.
