Tollywood star Vijay Deverakonda made a plea for peace during a promotional event for the film Retro in Hyderabad, stating that India does not need to wage war against Pakistan. Addressing the recent Pahalgam terror attack, the actor underscored Kashmir’s integral place within India while predicting internal unrest in Pakistan against its government.

Deverakonda’s remarks came during a star-studded event for Retro, where he spoke candidly about India-Pakistan relations. “These terrorists lack brains, and they need to be educated. Pakistan lacks basic infrastructure and can’t even handle its own issues within the country and still has the audacity to attack India for Kashmir. I just want to reiterate that Kashmir belongs to India & Kashmiris are an integral part of our country. I strongly feel that India doesn’t even need to go to war with Pakistan. Pakistanis will be fed up with their government and revolt someday,” he said, according to a report by 123Telugu.

Retro Event Steals the Spotlight

The Retro promotional event, attended by co-stars Suriya and Pooja Hegde, as well as director Karthik Subbaraj, was intended to build anticipation for the action drama. Retro, produced by Suriya’s 2D Entertainment, promises high-octane action and a gripping narrative. Vijay asserted, “Suriya Anna has always been one of my favorite actors. His performances often left me shocked. His movies are an inspiration, and I want to act like him and do the kind of movies he does. Suriya S/o Krishnan is my most favorite Suriya Anna movie, and I just love the ‘Chanchala’ song. Retro should become a big hit.”

Speaking of the professional front, his upcoming pan-India spy thriller, Kingdom, is set for release in May 2025.
