The anticipation surrounding Rajinikanth's latest film, Vettaiyan, reached a fever pitch as its new prevue was unveiled at a star-studded audio launch event in Chennai. This marks the third project of writer and director TJ Gnanavel, following the critically acclaimed Jai Bhim (2021) and Kootathil Oruthan.

In Vettaiyan, Rajinikanth portrays a seasoned encounter specialist known for his fearlessness and ruthlessness in dealing with dangerous criminals. However, his methods clash with those of his senior, Sathyadev, played by the legendary Amitabh Bachchan, who advocates for a more humane approach to justice.

The film boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Manju Warrier, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, and many others, each bringing their unique talents to their respective roles.

While the trailer has been met with widespread excitement, one aspect that has raised eyebrows among fans is the use of Prakash Raj's voiceover for Amitabh Bachchan's character. Raj, who played a pivotal role in Jai Bhim, has dubbed Big B's lines in Tamil.

Like its predecessor, Jai Bhim, Vettaiyan delves into the controversial topic of encounter killings and human rights violations. The film promises to be a thought-provoking exploration of justice, morality, and the consequences of violence.

The audio launch of Vettaiyan was a star-studded affair, attended by Rajinikanth, Anirudh Ravichander, Rana Daggubati, Dushara, and Ritika Singh, among others. However, Amitabh Bachchan, despite his significant role in the film, was unable to attend the event but he sent a video message.

Vettaiyan is slated for release on October 10, 2024.
