After directing The Greatest of All Time (GOAT) starring Thalapathy Vijay, director Venkat Prabhu is preparing for his next big project — this time with actor Sivakarthikeyan. Currently, Sivakarthikeyan is busy with Parasakthi, helmed by Sudha Kongara, but he is expected to begin working with Venkat Prabhu soon.
Venkat Prabhu Gives Sneak Peek into Pre-Production
In a recent video update, Venkat Prabhu shared insights about the upcoming film. He confirmed that pre-production work was already in progress and moving at a fast pace. He said, “I am going to begin the shoot for my next film soon. Everyone knows it will be with Sivakarthikeyan. Pre-production work is rapidly happening right now. So mostly, we will begin shooting from December this year or January 2026. It will be a different style of movie.” While not much has been revealed about the genre or plot, the director hinted that the film would stand apart from his previous works in terms of style and storytelling.
Sivakarthikeyan’s Upcoming Projects
Sivakarthikeyan, who was last seen in Madharaasi directed by AR Murugadoss, has a packed schedule ahead. In Madharaasi, he portrayed a man with Fregoli syndrome who takes on a suicide mission to dismantle a powerful gun-smuggling syndicate.
He is also expected to work on a film with Don director Cibi Chakravarthy. With Venkat Prabhu’s project also expected to go on floors around the same time, both films may begin production simultaneously.
Venkat Prabhu’s Recent Work: The Greatest of All Time
Venkat Prabhu’s most recent directorial venture, The Greatest of All Time, featured Thalapathy Vijay in a dual role. The action-packed spy drama followed a former field agent grappling with the mysterious reappearance of his presumed-dead son, forcing him to face buried secrets from his past.
The film included a star-studded cast with Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Mohan, Jayaram, Ajmal Ameer, Vaibhav, Yogi Babu, Premgi Amaren, Sneha, Laila, and others. Sivakarthikeyan also made a special cameo appearance as himself. The GOAT is now available for streaming on Netflix.
