New mom Upasana Konidela recently opened up about her emotional journey through motherhood and postpartum challenges in an interview with The Times of India. She revealed the unwavering support of her husband, actor Ram Charan, describing him as her "pillar of strength" during this time. Upasana shared that both she and Ram find it "heart-wrenching" to leave their daughter Kaara back home whenever they travel, stating that they "cry more than Kaara does."
Upasana disclosed that Ram moved in with her to her parents' home to support her during her postpartum depression. "My husband is my therapist and moved in with me to my parents’ place (after they had the baby). I understand that it’s not the same for all mothers, so it’s vital for them to prioritize their well-being and seek professional help when needed," she said. This gesture highlights Ram's commitment and hands-on approach as a father.
She further mentioned that Ram's attentive parenting has influenced their daughter’s habits. "Charan’s loving attention and participation in raising Klin Kaara has enriched this phase of my life even further. Even her eating habits mirror his; she’s a true Konidela. Transitioning into motherhood has been a profound journey, but certainly not without challenges," Upasana noted, emphasizing the impact of his involvement.
In a previous interview with HT City, Upasana highlighted Ram's supportive nature, stating, "They say behind every successful man there is a woman. When he is shining, it's great to be the shadow, and when I shine, he is secure enough to be mine." She added that she is equally proud to be in his shadow when needed, underlining the mutual support in their relationship.
Ram and Upasana, who married in June 2012, welcomed their first child, Klin Kaara, in June 2023. Ram Charan will soon be seen in Shankar’s Game Changer and has upcoming projects with Buchi Babu Sana and Sukumar.
