Thalapathy Vijay and Ajith Kumar holds a huge fanbase in south and as Vijay's Varisu and Ajith's Thunivu is clashing at box office and theatres on January 11, Vijay's fans tear down Ajith's cutout at Rohini theatre in Chennai.

Makers of the films released trailers, posters and songs ahead of the release, which have created quite a buzz among its audience. Fans took it to themselves to celebrate this event where Ajith Kumar and Thalapathy Vijay's films are clashing after eight years. However, Vijay's fans created a havoc at Chennai's famous Rohini theatre by tearing down Ajith's cut-outs. In contrary to this, they poured milk on Vijay's cut-outs.

It is reported that both the films have received good number of screens across all the theatres in Tamil Nadu, with Varisu occupying comparatively more screens than Thunivu. Any which ways the box office is going to boom considering buzz these two films have already created. The films have released ahead of the major festival of Tamil Nadu, i.e., Pongal and the Tamil cinema has successfully delivered two big films this time.

Ajith Kumar’s Thunivu, revolves around the life of a mysterious mastermind and his team of four, that forms a plan and commits bank heists across Chennai. However, the motive of the heist remains mysterious. Thalapathy Vijay’s Varisu revolves around the life of a happy-go-lucky man who’s life changes after the unexpected death of his foster brother.
