Telugu version of Indian 2, Bharateeyudu 2, trimmed by 20 minutes from day 2 onwards : Bollywood News

Filmmaker Shankar’s Indian 2 is one of the rare films to have a sequel after as many as 28 years. The first film, Indian, had released way back in 1996 and it starred Kamal Haasan in the lead while playing a double role. Indian 2 was released yesterday on July 12 after a lot of fanfare and heavy promotions. The film, however, has received a mixed response from the audience and critics alike.

And now, it has come to light that the film’s Telugu version Bharateeyudu 2 has been trimmed by a large duration of 20 minutes from day two onwards, which is today. The news has been shared by the industry tracker Sreedhar Pillai on X (formerly Twitter). It seems that the makers were prompted to make this move after the not-so-positive response the film has received.

As of now, it is not known whether the makers have taken up the same strategy for the other language versions of the film.

Indian told the story of a former freedom fighter Senapathy who turns vigilante and starts eliminating those who employ corrupt means to make quick bucks. The film also starred Manisha Koirala and Urmila Matondkar in pivotal roles. In Indian 2, he returns for the same purpose. The sequel also stars Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, Brahmanandam, among others.
