Telugu actor Manoj Manchu arrested by Tirupati police, reason unknown : Bollywood News

Telugu actor Manoj Manchu was taken into custody by Tirupati police during the late hours of Monday. While the reason for his arrest remains unclear, he was reportedly taken to Bakaraopet police station. Videos of Manoj Manchu interacting with police officials have surfaced on social media. The actor was recently in the news due to a public fall-out with his father, Mohan Babu.

In another video, Manoj Manchu was seen speaking on the phone with an unknown person, asking important questions regarding the reason for his custody.

Hours after the incident, Manoj Manchu clarified that he was called to the station for questioning. He expressed that he was being targeted and that his family felt unsafe due to the situation.

He said, “There have been a lot of rumours going on about me. Yesterday, at the event, there were many who tried to disrupt it. We don't know who was behind the attacks. Yesterday, intelligence checked about my whereabouts. 10 police officials said that they were here on the Chief Minister's order. I asked them the reason for coming to the station. They were persistent and asked us to come to the station and talk.”

He further added, “500 metres ahead of the station, the Sub-Inspector stopped the car and promised that he'd come back. We visited the station and recorded our statement and also said that they did not know why they were brought to the station. No officials spoke to me. They kept me waiting. I will meet the Superintendent of Police today at 5 pm with all the proofs I have.”

Earlier, Manoj and his wife, Bhuma Mounika, attended the Jallikattu event in Chandragiri, where the actor took part in the festivities held in Chandragiri Mandal. More details regarding the reasons behind Manoj Manchu's custody are still awaited.

In December 2024, tensions between Mohan Babu and Manoj Manchu escalated into a physical altercation. Manoj was stopped at the gate outside his father's residence, and when he attempted to enter, a heated argument ensued.

During the confrontation, Mohan Babu attacked a journalist, which led to a police case being filed against him.
