In a shocking turn of events, popular actresses Tamannaah Bhatia and Kajal Aggarwal are reportedly set to be summoned by the Puducherry police in connection with a cryptocurrency fraud case. The actresses are being questioned over their involvement in a scheme that allegedly defrauded investors of Rs 2.4 crore.
The case has garnered significant attention after ex-soldier Ashokan from Moolakulam, Puducherry, filed a complaint accusing a Coimbatore-based cryptocurrency firm of swindling him and his associates. According to reports, Ashokan claimed he invested Rs. 1 crore into the firm’s cryptocurrency investment scheme. Furthermore, he persuaded ten of his friends to invest a total of Rs 2.4 crore. However, the scheme turned out to be fraudulent, with Ashokan alleging that he was misled by the company.
The controversy escalated when Ashokan revealed that he had been invited to the company’s launch event, which was notably attended by actress Tamannaah Bhatia. Additionally, he claimed to have been invited to a second function in Mahabalipuram, where actress Kajal Aggarwal was the chief guest. During this event, investors were reportedly gifted cars worth between Rs. 10 lakh and Rs. 1 crore. These lavish gifts raised suspicions about the nature of the investment scheme, with many questioning the legitimacy of the company.
The Puducherry police have now sought to clarify the roles of Tamannaah Bhatia and Kajal Aggarwal in the affair. Investigators are reportedly keen to determine whether the actresses were merely endorsing the events or if they had any financial involvement in the fraudulent scheme. As of now, neither Tamannaah nor Kajal has made any public statements regarding the allegations or the summons.
While it remains unclear how deeply the actresses are involved, the case has sparked widespread debate in the entertainment and financial communities. Both Bhatia and Aggarwal have enjoyed successful careers in the Indian film industry with Tamannaah recently attending the Maha Kumbh where she launched her upcoming supernatural film Odela 2 and Kajal gearing up for the release of Salman Khan, Rashmika Mandanna starrer Sikandar during Eid, 2025.
