Suriya pens heartfelt note for ‘brother’ Karthik Subbaraj after wrapping up Suriya 44

Amid Suriya fans eagerly waiting to see him in the big screens with the magnum opus Kanguva, the actor has been working hard on wrapping up his work commitments including the untitled Suriya 44. Written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj, the film is expected to be set in the 1980s. Sparking excitement ever since its announcement earlier this year, now it has been learnt that the team has wrapped up its schedule and shared details of the same on social media.

Sharing his love for the team and happiness since he completed another intriguing project, Suriya penned a note on the social media platform X, aka Twitter, along with showcasing his close bond with filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj. In his note, he wrote, “A wholesome, happy shoot got done across several locations… Lots of memories with the super talented cast & crew… I made a brother for life @karthiksubbaraj thank you & our team for making #Suriya44 a memorable experience. #ShootWrap”.

Responding to his note, Karthik to added, “It was all possible coz of ur dedication.... passion... & Commitment to the Art of Cinema... The One .... The film is expected to be a gangster drama, but further details are kept under wraps including the title. However, the makers hinted that Suriya 44 is all about ‘Love Laughter War’ in the announcement teaser, which was unveiled on the day of the superstar’s birthday.

Also starring Pooja Hegde as the leading lady, the film also features an ensemble supporting cast that includes Jayaram, Joju George, Karunakaran, Nassar, Sujith Shankar, Thamizh, Prem Kumar, Ramachandran Durairaj, Sandeep Raj, Murugavel, Remya Suresh, among others. With music composed by Santhosh Narayanan, cinematography handled by Shreyaas Krishna and editing by Shafique Mohamed Ali, the makers are yet to also share details of the release date.
