Filmmaker SS Rajamouli recently spoke about the performance of Jr NTR in the emotionally charged ‘Komuram Bheemudo’ song from RRR, describing the actor’s dedication during the shoot as ‘like a man who is possessed’. In a recent statement, the director acknowledged the level of intensity Jr NTR brought to the role, particularly during the filming of one of the film’s most pivotal sequences.

“Shooting the song was easy because Tarak (NTR) looked like a man who is possessed,” Rajamouli said. “We all know that he's a fantastic actor but in this particular song, he was at a different level, shooting for the song. Every expression he gave including the minutest muscle movement on his forehead or the jaw — everything was perfect. I just had to place the camera and play the song, and it would come out beautifully.”

Jr NTR played the role of Komaram Bheem in the pan-India period action drama RRR, which emerged as a massive commercial and critical success. His performance in the 'Komuram Bheemudo' sequence stood out for its emotional weight and restrained intensity, contributing significantly to the film’s narrative impact.

The sequence, which captured the emotional turmoil of Bheem as he faced humiliation and imprisonment, required a nuanced performance — something Rajamouli believes Jr NTR delivered with precision. According to the director, the actor’s ability to convey emotion even through subtle facial expressions was crucial to the song’s effectiveness.

Jr NTR’s portrayal of Komaram Bheem was praised for its physicality, emotional depth, and alignment with the character’s internal conflict. The film’s success further cemented his position as one of the leading actors in contemporary Indian cinema.
