Sonakshi Sinha is all set to make her grand Telugu debut with Jatadhara, an intense bilingual thriller co-starring Sudheer Babu. The film, which will hit theatres on November 7 in both Telugu and Hindi, marks her second outing in South Indian cinema after the Tamil film Lingaa with superstar Rajinikanth. Ahead of the release, the actress opened up about her experience working in the Telugu industry, revealing that it has been both refreshing and creatively satisfying.

Speaking to the Press Trust of India (PTI), Sonakshi described Jatadhara as a bold and unconventional project. “It’s dark, it’s layered, and it’s very different from anything I’ve done before,” she said, hinting that audiences can expect a side of her they haven’t seen yet. Known for seamlessly balancing commercial entertainers and content-driven roles, the actress seems ready to explore newer terrains with this film.

Sharing her observations about the Telugu film industry, Sonakshi expressed admiration for its professionalism and structure. “There are not many differences, but their timings are very good, very sorted. Work-life balance is very good there, something we can definitely learn from,” she noted.

She further praised the discipline on Telugu sets, adding that the industry prioritizes both productivity and well-being. “If you come for a shoot at nine, you cannot shoot after six – you are not allowed. That’s something really nice about it. It’s a bit more disciplined, I would say,” Sonakshi explained.

Directed by a yet-undisclosed filmmaker, Jatadhara boasts an ensemble cast that includes Shilpa Shirodkar, Divya Khossla, Indira Krishna, Ravi Prakash, Naveen Neni, and Rohit Pathak, among others. The film’s story is expected to be rooted in emotional complexity, with Sonakshi playing a pivotal role that drives the narrative forward.

With Jatadhara, Sonakshi Sinha expands her cinematic horizons beyond Hindi cinema, stepping into the Telugu film landscape with confidence and curiosity.
