SJ Suryah, the talented actor-filmmaker, is all set to don the director's hat once again after a hiatus of eight years. Known for his directorial prowess and unique storytelling, Suryah has created a niche for himself in the Tamil film industry.

During an interview with Galatta Plus, Suryah revealed that his upcoming directorial venture is titled "Killer" and is currently in the final stages of pre-production. Excitingly, he will also be playing the lead role in the movie. While he is currently fulfilling his acting obligations, he expressed his anticipation for the film's production to commence next year.

For the unversed, Suryah's breakthrough came in 1999 when he directed the psychological romantic thriller Vaalee, starring actor Ajith Kumar. This film marked the beginning of a successful journey for Suryah, who went on to achieve further acclaim with his subsequent projects.

The renowned filmmaker extended his success by writing and directing Kushi in 2000, a film that not only received critical acclaim but also transcended boundaries by being remade in Telugu and Hindi. He continued to showcase his versatility with films like Naani (2004), New (2004), Anbe Aaruyire (2005), Puli (2010), and Isai (2015), the latter of which he also acted in.

Fans and the industry alike are eagerly awaiting Suryah's return as a director. Known for his innovative storytelling techniques and the ability to captivate audiences, it will be intriguing to see what he brings to the table with Killer.

On the professional front, the 54-year-old actor-filmmaker is awaiting the release of Bommai. The Radha Mohan directorial is slated to release on June 16.
