Popular Sandalwood actor Mandeep Roy has passed away. Mandeep breathed his last at the age of 72. Reportedly, the veteran actor suffered a heart attack and was admitted to the hospital for treatment. Soon after the news of his death broke, a section of his fans took to their respective social media handles and mourned his demise.
As per several media reports, Mandeep’s daughter informed that the last rites of the actor have been done at the Hebbal crematorium, which happened yesterday, January 29. For the unversed, Mandeep was admitted to Apollo Hospital in Seshadripuram, Bengaluru after suffering a heart attack in December 2022. After he was stable, the late actor was in talks about heart surgery with his doctors.
Hailing from Bengal, Mandeep Roy started his career as a theatre artist. After coming to Bengaluru, he started acting in Kannada-language films. He made his debut in films in 1981 with Minchina Ota. He used to do mostly comic roles in films. His comedy was well-liked by the audience.
In his career, the late actor acted in more than 500 films and the list includes titles such as Malgudi Days, Pushpak Vimana, Devara Atta, Nagarahavu, Aptha Rakshak, Benkiya Balle, Akashmika, Yelu Suthika Kote, Geetha, Aasegobba Meesegobba, Amrithadhare, and Kurigaalu Saar Kurugaalu. He was last seen in Auto Ramanna, which came in the year 2022.
