Despite the high expectations from the movie and the buzz surrounding it, Shaakuntalam opened to a lukewarm response. The film's leading lady, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who has been receiving accolades for her performances in recent years, was also unable to save the movie from bombing at the box office. Soon after the release of the film, Tollywood producer Chittibabu passed some mean and derogatory comments while claiming that “her career is over.”

Well, it seems Samantha has responded to his remake in a scathing social media post. On Saturday, April 22, Samantha took to her Instagram story section and shared a screenshot of a Google search result. The search query was about the reason behind the growth of hair from ears, and the screenshot highlighted the link between this medical condition and elevated levels of testosterone hormones. The actress wrote 'IYKYK', an acronym that stands for 'if you know, you know', without specifically mentioning anyone's name

However, it appeared to be a subtle yet obvious jab at Chittibabu, who apparently has substantial hair growth around his ears.

Speaking of Chittibabu’s remarks, in an interview with Filmy Looks, he had said, “Samantha did ‘Oo Antava’ item song in Pushpa The Rise after her divorce. She did it for her livelihood. After losing the status of a star heroine, she is doing whatever offers she is getting. Her career as a heroine is finished and she cannot get back to stardom again. She should continue her journey doing the offers she gets."

Coming to the professional front, the 35-year-old actress is currently busy shooting for Citadel, an upcoming Amazon Prime Video series. It will also feature Varun Dhavan in the lead. Meanwhile, her forthcoming film with Vijay Deverakonda, titled Kushi, is slated to release on September 1 this year.
