Samantha Ruth Prabhu, a well-known Indian actress, recently announced that she has been diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease called Myositis. The actress took to social media to share the news with her fans and followers and opened up about her struggles with the disease. Post sharing the news, a couple of her projects were also delayed including her upcoming film Kushi. Recently, the actress revealed that the initial months were very difficult for her as she is a “control freak.”

It all happened during her interaction with ETime. The South sensation asserted, “I am a control freak. If I want something done, I will get it done and I will get it done immediately. When I was initially diagnosed, it was beyond…It forced me to face my core habit and it forced me to face it head on and this is not in my control.”

Samantha further added, “You cannot wake up every day and want it to go away. It’s not going away. So for the first two-three months, there was a lot of torment, there was a lot of chaos and anguish, there were a lot of tears, there were dark places that I went to because this was completely against everything that I built my life so far.”

The 35-year-old actress concluded by saying that the entire situation has changed her physically, mentally and spiritually and she is still figuring out the “new Samantha”.

Coming to the professional front, she was last seen in Yashoda, a Telugu-language action thriller film. The Hari Harish directorial did a decent business at the box office. She is currently busy with the promotions of her next film, Shaakuntalam, which is slated to release on April 14. Besides this, as mentioned above, she also has the Vijay Deverakonda starrer, Kushi. The rom-com will be released on September 1.
