In the interview, S.S. Rajamouli firmly asserted that he doesn’t believe in having ‘an agenda’ behind filmmaking and his idea is to make films which are value for audience’s money.  He said, "Any extreme point of view, I oppose. I don't have any kind of hidden agenda... I make films for people who are willing to pay their hard-earned money on the film ticket. I like to get them entertained, make them feel dramatic about the characters, about the situations, have a good time, go back and live their lives." He went on to speak about how aims at creating ‘larger-than-life characters, situations and drama in cinema’ adding that he believes in making heroes, who hold nothing back while delivering the action sequences.

In an earlier interview too, the filmmaker had maintained that his films do not cater to the extremist audiences and that he has never been approached to make films on these subjects. The filmmaker also had insisted that he being an atheist, he stayed away from religion and pseudo-liberalism concept, with his agenda only being to entertain the audience with larger-than-life cinema.

Coming to RRR, the film recently won five awards at the HCA Awards 2022, besides winning many accolades in the past including a Golden Globe. The film’s song ‘Naatu Naatu’ is India’s official entry to the Oscars 2023 in the Best Original Song category.

For the unversed, RRR is a period drama, set during the British Raj with Ram Charan playing the role of an honest and sincere officer and Jr. NTR essaying the role of rebellious revolutionary.
