S.S. Rajamouli confirms ‘only casting Nani’ for his ambitious film Mahabharata : Bollywood News

Filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli recently made headlines when he revealed that only actor Nani has been finalized in terms of casting for his much-anticipated Mahabharata project. The director, currently immersed in shooting SSMB29, was present at the pre-release event for Nani’s upcoming crime thriller HIT: The Third Case, where he shared the update with a packed audience.

When asked about the star-studded Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra Jonas project, Rajamouli chose to remain tight-lipped. However, when asked about his other film on Mahabharata, he responded stating, "Only Nani's casting is fixed." The announcement was met with loud cheers and applause from fans who were excited at the prospect of seeing the Telugu actor feature in Rajamouli's ambitious mythological epic.

Nani, who also spoke at the event, shared how he had reached out to Rajamouli to invite him despite the filmmaker’s packed schedule. "I texted him requesting him to attend. He was shooting for his film, but I will not say which film this is. I didn't know if he would come. I felt that I needed to ask and he instantly agreed," Nani said, expressing his gratitude towards the filmmaker's gesture. Adding a personal touch to the evening, Nani also expressed his affection for Rajamouli’s wife, Rama Rajamouli, who attended the event as well. He said, "I love you more than him. I am so happy that you are here. You and Valli garu have always given me the 'akka' (sister) vibes."

HIT: The Third Case is the third installment in the HIT Universe, directed by Sailesh Kolanu. The film stars Nani and Srinidhi Shetty in lead roles, along with Adil Pala, Rao Ramesh, Brahmaji, and Maganti Srinath in pivotal parts. Produced by Prashanti Tipirneni and Nani under Wall Poster Cinema and Unanimous Productions, HIT 3 follows the tradition of edge-of-the-seat thrillers that have been a hallmark of the franchise.
