Following the success of Kantara, National Award-winning actor and filmmaker Risha Shetty has commenced work on his next project, Jai Hanuman. The muhurat pooja of the film was held on February 22 at Anjanadri Betta, widely recognised as the birthplace of Anjaneya (Lord Hanuman), marking the official launch of the mythological drama directed by Prasanth Varma.
The ceremony brought together producer Bhushan Kumar of T-Series along with producers Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar of Mythri Movie Makers. Shiv Chanana of T-Series was also present at the muhurat. Actor Teja Sajja, who headlined Varma’s Hanu-Man (2024), attended the auspicious occasion as well.
Jai Hanuman is positioned as a significant chapter in the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe (PVCU). Rooted in Indian mythology and spiritual tradition, the film will feature Rishab Shetty portraying Lord Hanuman in a pivotal role. The decision to hold the muhurat at Anjanadri Betta was aligned with the film’s subject, with the team seeking blessings before beginning production.
Speaking to the media at the venue, Rishab Shetty shared his thoughts on starting the project at the sacred site. "I initially expressed my wish to the producer and director to hold the muhurat at the birthplace of Lord Hanuman. Today, the entire team has gathered here to seek his blessings, and we are happy and fortunate that it could take place at this sacred place. Jai Hanuman was announced even before the release of Kantara Chapter 1, and I view this as a rare chance to serve through film. This will be a divine movie and an opportunity to show our devotion on screen. Director Prasanth Varma has created a powerful story, and I believe that devotees and followers of Lord Rama and Hanuman will experience it with a deep sense of faith," he said.

The collaboration between T-Series and Mythri Movie Makers marks a cross-industry partnership aimed at mounting the mythological epic on a large scale.
