We had reported earlier that Aishwarya Rajinikanth is all set to return to filmmaking and has locked her next film with Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth titled Lal Salaam. While the director has kicked off the film, let us also remind you that it will feature the filmmaker’s father Rajinikanth in a special cameo, and they have also released a first look of the megastar. And now going by the recent social media post, it looks like the film will also have another major special appearance done by none other than cricket legend Kapil Dev.

For the unversed, Rajinikanth, who will be playing the role of Moideen Bhai in Lal Salaam, recently visited Mumbai to shoot for his extended cameo. Going by the first look posters of the film, that were released during the announcement, it was being said that the film will have an important connection with cricket. Confirming the same, now it seems that cricket legend and former captain of the Indian cricket team, Kapil Dev has been roped in for a special appearance in it. When one megastar met the other, a post on social media was obviously a must!

Rajinikanth took to Twitter to share a photo of him and Kapil Dev indulging in some intense chit chat and he expressed how honored he felt meeting the cricket star in his caption saying, “It is my honour and privilege working with the Legendary, most respected and wonderful human being Kapildevji., who made India proud winning for the first time ever.. Cricket World Cup!!!”

On the other hand, Kapil Dev too shared a photo of the two of them on his Instagram story and added, "An honor and privilege to be with the great man."

Readers would be aware that Kapil Dev was the first Indian captain under whose leadership India won its first World Cup in 1983. On the other hand, talking about Lal Salaam, the film is expected to be set against the backdrop of cricket and communism. With music composed by A.R. Rahman, the film went on floors earlier this year.
