Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan following the deadly terror attack on Indian Army personnel in Pahalgam on April 22, actor Rajinikanth has lent his voice of support to the Indian government and Armed Forces.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the superstar wrote, “The fighter's fight begins... No stopping until the mission is accomplished! The entire NATION is with you. @PMOIndia @HMOIndia #OperationSindoor JAI HIND”. His tweet comes in response to Operation Sindoor, India’s strong retaliatory strike which was launched in response to the ambush in Pahalgam that claimed multiple lives.

The operation, which reportedly targeted terrorist launch pads across the border, has triggered widespread conversation across the country. Many Bollywood and South Indian film personalities have expressed support for the Indian Armed Forces, and Rajinikanth has now joined that list with his trademark clarity and patriotism.
Tensions between the two neighbouring nations reached a new high following the April 22 attack. While the international community has called for restraint, Indian citizens have largely supported the government’s tough stand. A ceasefire was briefly brokered and announced by the US President on May 10, but within hours, Pakistan was reported to have violated the truce, reigniting concerns.
On the professional front, Rajinikanth is gearing up for one of the most anticipated releases of the year - Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film, which promises to be an action-heavy entertainer packed featuring an ensemble cast of Shruti Haasan, Nagarjuna, and others, is scheduled to release on August 14, 2025 - just a day before India’s Independence Day. Interestingly, the film is expected to clash at the box office with War 2, the Hrithik Roshan-Jr NTR starrer from YRF Spy Universe.
Additionally, speculation continues to build around Jailer 2, the sequel to his 2023 blockbuster as reports suggest that the project is already in the early stages of development.
