Superstar Rajinikanth, who is basking in the success of his latest blockbuster Jailer, received the rather sad news of his co-star from the film G Marimuthu passing away on Friday, September 8. Reports reveal that the late actor breathed his last at 8.30 am on Friday, after he collapsed during the dubbing of his TV show, Ethirneechal. He was reportedly rushed to the hospital but was declared dead. Rajinikanth expressed his shock over the sudden death of the actor.

The Tamil superstar took to his Twitter account and expressed grief towards the actor’s family. He wrote in Tamil, “Marimuth is a wonderful person. His death shocked me. My heartfelt condolences to his bereaved family.”

Production house Sun Pictures also mourned the demise of the actor-director and shared a photo of the late actor with a caption that read, “Condolences! Your work has been impeccable and irreplaceable. Rest in peace #Marimuthu.”

G Marimuthu began his career in entertainment as a director with the 2008 film Kannum Kannum, and then eventually moved to acting and making a mark as an actor.
