After the success of his recent film Thandel, Naga Chaitanya is set to explore new cinematic territory with his upcoming project tentatively titled NC24. Backed by veteran producer BVSN Prasad and helmed by director Karthik Dandu - best known for his work in Virupaksha - the film is positioned as a visually ambitious, mythological fantasy with pan-India appeal.

Described as a high-stakes epic, NC24 is expected to blend ancient mythology with modern-day storytelling. Early reports suggest the plot will revolve around three central characters—a treasure hunter, an archaeologist, and a history student—who are drawn into a mysterious and dangerous journey. Their quest leads them to confront ancient prophecies, royal bloodlines, and supernatural forces threatening to trigger an apocalyptic event. The narrative is said to draw inspiration from multiple mythological and historical sources, including themes from the dark ages and references to the Kalyuga.

The film is expected to stand out not only for its unique premise but also for its large-scale production design, intense action sequences, and extensive use of VFX. The makers are aiming to deliver a visually immersive experience, with the intent of reaching audiences across language barriers. The team believes that the universal themes of good versus evil and the battle against fate will resonate well with viewers nationwide.

Speaking about the project, Naga Chaitanya said, “I believe NC24 has the potential to connect with a very wide audience. The story is universal in its themes of good versus evil and the fight against destiny, and the visual scale of the film is something I’m incredibly excited for audiences to experience.”

On April 26, the actor offered fans a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the project by sharing a BTS video on social media. The caption read, “Buried Secrets… Beyond Time… The Raging Mythical Thriller Begins #NC24 shoot begins,” fuelling speculation and excitement around the actor’s shift into an unfamiliar genre.

Currently in production, NC24 is being developed as a multilingual release and is expected to feature a strong ensemble cast. Further announcements regarding the title, cast, and release date are anticipated in the coming months.
